Third Journal

Hi guys, long time no see! I’m back for my third journal!

For my third journal I still have to write what I have learned in this writing class and what I have to improved again and again, not only in this writing class but also in another subject class. I still have a lot of mistakes in this writing class. Second semester is a tough semester for me I think. Why? Because in this semester I have to do a lot of assigments from my lecturer, sometimes this assignments are difficult and confusing, but I have to focus always. In this semester we have to split our time well, we should not complain about what we have to do. Sometimes I feel tired with a lot of assigments but through a lot of assigments I can learn a lot from there.

I think that I still have to learned a lot. Yes, a lot! I still lack in confidence to speak in front of class or write something in this writing class. Actually because I’m afraid if I make a lot of mistakes. Fortunately, now I was better than the first I entered this university although I couldn’t understand something sometimes. Something that I think I still have to learn a lot are grammar, punctuation and this day in this writing class I have to write a narrative story and I think that I have to learn about how to make a good story. I really like this writing class idea because we have to write something on a blog, design it, give a comment or feedback to other friends. It’s really fun and it makes us not feel bored.It also make my writing fell interesting and look eye-catching for the readers.

International Culture Festival and Celebration

April, 8^th 2016 is the most awaited day for the student from English Departement of Widya Mandala Catholic University. Why? Because in that day we are going to hold an event that name “International Culture Festival and Celebration” . Yayyy!!! I’m really happy for the first I heard about this event, because this event is the first event that hold in our faculty. The MC's were Gisel from second semester and William from fourth semester. Not only the student from English Departement but also from high school students around Surabaya attended this event. This event are attended by 7 countries. That are France, China, Belarus, Indonesia, Spain, Netherlands, and Germany.

They were came to give an presentation about their country. The first presentation was from China, they talked about the history of The Haka and taught us about how to write calligraphy in China. It’s really fun to know how to write a calligraphy. The second presentation was from France, the presentator taught us about how to speak in France like how to introduce ourself, spelling the language and so on. Then, for the third presentation Belarus came to the stage to give a presentation and they showed us about their country through some videos. Belarus is a beautiful country in the Eastern Europe, I hope that I can go there someday haha. Spain was came to the stage for the forth presentation, Domingo himself gave us some videos about the carnaval and the city of Spain. Not only the presentation, Domingo friends who can dance salsa was taught us about the basic of salsa dance. Its so much fun! The fifth representative was from Indonesia itself, they described about our traditional food, that is pecel! My favourite food! and finally for the sixth and seventh presentation, it’s the turn for Germany and Netherlands. They had an interactive talk with the audiences, there were some games and gifts were distributed.

 Overall, this event were pretty awesome! I like this event because from this event we can know more knowledges about other countries and our own country. I have always wanted to learn about other country languages but it's little bit difficult for me. I hope that we can hold this event every year.

New Zodiac: BEAR

Hello guys, I comeback! In this writing I will tell you about my new zodiac. Don’t be surprised because I choose this animal to be my new zodiac. Do you guys can guest what animal I choose? Yes, it is BEAR! I will describe what is the bear zodiac and why I choose this animals to be my new zodiac. Here is it!

Since I was a kid, I’m always like many kinds of bear although I have never met a bear in a real life I mean a real bear like the one in a zoo but if I looked at some pictures they are look so cute and nice. I like to collecting many kinds of things that have the shape of bear, like bear doll, pajamas bear, sandals bear and so on.

The new zodiac that I choose is Bear. Why Bear? Because all bears are physically powerful but they, for the most part, are shy, are easily frightened and that’s like me. People who have this zodiac they usually look strong and brave but inside them actually they are a shy person. They like to observe something or someone new for them. Even if they are messy,their goals and dream are put on strictly defined points in their mind. 

They really now how to solve a problem. They needs to get in touch with my feelings, this is why they usually seem cold. They will say their feel okay or everything is alright even when it's not. Like on my previous post about my personality you all know that I can make friends easily with other people and that’s the same between me and bear I think. They are thruthful, loyal and determined.How about the emotional things abut this zodiac? A bear zodiac mind is a very powerful mind and they must have the proper attitude for their life to be happy.

Important events

Hello guys!! Welcome back!

There are many things that can happen in person's life. Special moments of are definitely different. That moments maybe have sad or happy stories. Other event could be important but I think this one is more important for me because from this event I learn about something new in life. I will tell you about my expectation in the college life. My first day at college I distinctly remember the first day I joined this University. To me it’s an unforgettable day. I had glimpse of college life from my senior in senior high school. I was most curiosly awaited the day when I would start my college life.

At 6.30 a.m I walked from my boarding house to the  campus with nervous conditions and fluttering heart. On my way to the campus I met some of people who wore the same uniform like me such as white collared shirt, black cloth pants, black shoes with white socks and backpack and I think that some of them were going to enter Widya Mandala campus, too. I didn’t know what to do as college life is not the same as senior high school life. I hoped that I could make more friends at this campus. I took everything casually. I was glad to see that the college presented a new sight. I came across many unknown faces. I found all the newly admitted students in high spirits. They were all happy to make friends. Fortunately, I met friend who lived in the same hometown with me and we are friends until now. Like in my previous post about my friends, I have a lot of friends, lucky me because my friends always help me in the class.

 I thought that college life would be more interesting than high school but in turns that I’m afraid that I can’t do my best because I’m afraid if I make a lot of mistakes in this major, although my lecturer tell me that it’s okay if we make a lot of mistakes because from that mistakes we can learned more and improved what we have learned. However, I still worry about my English. Since the first semester until now, I have learned so much and thanks to my lecturer and my friends that help me a lot. Being a university student isn’t easy and I struggle a lot about my task. Sometimes I still don’t know what to do and what to say. In English language I know and I understand what the people or the lecturer say in english but for me to answer or to convey whats in my mind it is still difficult and sometimes once again I’m afraid if I make a mistakes. In the next semester and next semester I have to study harder and harder. I hope that in this University I can learned a lot and be a successful person in the future. No matter how hard it would be, I will work hard!

                My life has changed after I took the university. I felt some changes happened in my life. I felt that I became a mature person and take responsibilities that I do. No more shy girl that always hiding behind other people and be the girl who always be brave standing in front of a lot of people. I think that I do somethings more better than yesterday. I could control my emotions and always think something more carefuly before do that things. My journey is still pretty long and I don’t know what will happen in the future with me but I believed that God always beside me and give me the best. Here, I’m only can pray and always be grateful.

Second Journal

Hi guys, I'm back to tell you about my second journal...

The second semester, a new semester that challenging for us. Why challenging? Because every lessons are being separated such as writing class, speaking class, listening class, and reading class. It means that we have to focus on one material in one class. It will be a lot of assignment that you have to submit it to your lecturer. In this second semester we have to split our time well. I’m not really good in writing but I tend to learn it. Sometimes I confused and don't know what to write. So far in this writing class, I have learned about how to make a proper sentences and make it into paragraph. I have improved my grammar and enrich my vocabularies too. 

I think that I still have too learned a lot from this writing class. I still lack of confidence to show my writing because I’m afraid that I make a lot of mistakes. Fortunately, in this writing class I can use the theory to other contexts like in reading class we have to make a summary from news and because in the writing class we always have opportunity to write something so if we will make a summary we can do it easily. For this midterm test I will study more about grammar, punctuation and how to tell the story in the chronological order. I hope fot this midterm test I can do the best and get a good score. 

Family and Friends

Hello guys! Nice to meet you all again! I hope that you all still enjoy reading my blog!

Talking about family, we all know that family is the most precious one in the world and I love my family so much. We are nothing without family. My family is everything to me. They raised me well until I have become like now. My grandparents from my mother has 5 children and my mother is the third child. My grandparents from my father has 8 children and my father is the seventh child.  All of my aunt and uncle from my mother side live in Surabaya and from my father side all of them are in Jakarta because my father hometown is in Jakarta. My grandfather from my mother used to work as a police in Surabaya soit’s the reason why all of my uncle and aunt from my mother side are in Surabaya. My family are considered as a small family because it consists of 3 people, just my parents and I. I’m the only child in my family. A lot of people say that is nice being the only child in the family, but the fact is I don’t really feel that. Sometimes I  feel bored because if I comeback from school there’s no one in my house, my parents are working and we can only meet at night. Therefore, I always bring my friends to my house to accompany me if my parents are not in the house. From this story you will know what I feel right? So now I will describe my parents whom I love so much.

Beginning with my mother the person that has exerted influence on me, she is like any other moms. Loving, caring, and concerned yet when she is angry you will definitely know her. My mother is tall and quite slim like me. Her name is Wardani Handayani. She is the most important person in my life. She likes to ask me to get selfie together with her, and I think that is cute hahaha. She gives me all the things that I need to grow up at the moment that I need them and she still gives me all the stuff I need. She always take care of me when I am sick. Sometimes when I get mad with my mother and shout at her I feel regret about that. She went through some hard times but she was really strong. Thanks to her that I’m a happy girl with mother like her.

My father is the best father in the world. He is very patient, caring, affectionate. He is there for me when I’m sad or I’m happy. His name is Bambang Sudarto. His family always comes first although we are a small family. I have a good relationship with my father and I think good relationship better than my mom hahaha. My father not only cares about his family but he cares about others too. He always treat my mother and I with love. My father loves to joke and acts funny. He always compliments me and always tells me that I’m doing a good job. Sometimes. my parents are too apprehensive about me and I know the reason is that I am a only child so they afraid if something bad will happen to me. For first I joined the university,my parents are worry so much about me, they always call me and ask me whether I’m fine in Surabaya. From that I know that my parents loves me so much.

Now I will describe my friends. I have so many friends and you know that I’m the person who can make friend easily from my previous post. All of my friends are beautiful and charming. They are genuinely generous and kind. I love them so much. No matter what happen to me they always cheer me up. Sometimes we do some crazy things and we will laugh out loud over something that funny or something that strange. These days I miss all of my senior high school friends, but I still keep in touch with them and sometimes I meet up with my friend who take their study in Surabaya. I’m always grateful still have friends who always adore me in this college. They hav been there for me through a lot. Although we all had never met before we joined the university, we get along very well. Once we sit around together we always do crazy things and laughing out loud. Hahaha! It’s good for me because of them I have never feel bored and because of them too I’m not lazy to go to class and meet them.
